Both Messi 24 and Barcelona team-mate Xavi, 31, claimed the accolade in 2009 and 2010,but Xavi ended up with Third.were Real Madrid’s Ronaldo, 26, got in 2008 and second in 2007 and 2009.
The nomination for goal of the year is Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney,While Coach of the year Sir Alex Ferguson.

The award winners will be announced on 9 January in Zurich.
